Conclusion of the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 and preparation for the Paralympic Games

On August 19, AIMC hosted a press conference dedicated to summing up the results of the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 and preparations for the Paralympic Games.

During the competition, there were victories that we enjoyed, but there were also bitter defeats and losses. This is a sport and in it defeat and victory are always one step apart. This must be understood correctly. The main thing is that our athletes fought to the last, defending the honor of the country. At the Olympic Games, the delegation of Uzbekistan won 3 gold and 2 bronze medals and took 32nd place among 206 countries in the team standings.

On August 20, the delegation of Uzbekistan will leave for Tokyo to participate in the 16th Summer Paralympic Games. Currently, our national team in Paralympic sports has 55 licenses. It should be noted that this is a record figure in the history of Uzbek sports. At the Tokyo Paralympics, we won 55 licenses in 8 sports with 48 athletes. The Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympics will run from August 24 to September 5.
