Construction of Surkhandarya TPP with a capacity of 1560 MW

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new thermal power plant with a capacity of 1,560 megawatts in Angor district of Surkhandarya region.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Benelux countries held a presentation at the Brussels Press Club on "Innovative European investment in Uzbekistan to stimulate economic growth and create new jobs," which included a 1.55 GW in Surkhandarya region. the project of the plant's production plant was presented.

The investment agreement for the construction of a new thermal power plant in 2021 in the framework of a public-private partnership between JSC "National Electric Grids" and "Stone City Energy" (Netherlands), as well as the supply of electricity from this thermal power plant on the principles of PPP a purchase agreement had been signed.

150 hectares of land in Angor district of Surkhandarya region have been allocated for the creative work of the project. The cost of the construction project of the thermal power plant with a capacity of 1560 MW is $ 1.2 billion. The project, which is expected to be launched by the end of 2024, is expected to create more than 2,000 jobs.
