Corruption crimes in the pharmaceutical industry are exposed

A number of officials were arrested as part of an investigation into a criminal case initiated on the death of children with a diagnosis of “acute kidney failure” due to the side effects of “DOK-1 Max” and “Ambronol” syrup.

A criminal case was initiated by the anti-corruption agency on a large number of financial errors and shortcomings identified according to the results of the study carried out by the pharmaceutical network development agency and the State Center for the examination and standardization of medicines, medical products and medical equipment under it, as well as cases of gross violations of the requirements established

On the basis of the collected evidence, the director of the pharmaceutical network development agency and the “State Center for the examination and standardization of medicines, medical goods and medical equipment” under him, as well as several of his criminal partners involved in the crimes committed, were suspected of the case and a prison precaution was applied to them.

It is also reported that during the preliminary investigation, comprehensive investigative-operational actions and appropriate examinations are carried out, aimed at identifying the circle of responsible persons who have allowed the importation of low-quality drugs into Uzbekistan and giving a legal assessment of their actions.
