Cultural Heritage and Creativity Platform was presented

The presentation of the “Cultural Heritage and Creativity Platform” was held on May 23, 2022 at the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The event was opened by the Director of the Cultural Heritage Agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Shakhriyor Nurulloev.

The presentation was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, the leadership of the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan. The event was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan and the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO.

The purpose of the "Cultural Heritage and Creativity Platform" is to protect the cultural and natural heritage of Uzbekistan and encourage creativity, to ensure the development of sustainable tourism. It also aims to support cultural programs and initiatives, including the United Nations Framework Convention on Sustainable Development, and the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy 2022-2026.

The tasks of the platform also include strengthening the protection of cultural and natural heritage in Uzbekistan, the development of cultural and creative spheres and the development of sustainable tourism.

Particularly:

• Identifing and map on a regular basis the cultural programs / projects / initiatives implemented by all stakeholders in Uzbekistan;

• Increasing the value of ongoing activities / projects through collaboration;

• Coordinating all cultural activities in a coordinated manner based on current policies and strategies, identified needs, etc;

• Based on the results of the mapped work, strengthening international cooperation, communication and assistance in the field of cultural heritage, providing a platform for mutual cooperation, exchanging views and experiences between local and international institutions and all stakeholders.
