Development of industry within the SCO and CIS

On July 15, 2022, in Tashkent under the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the meeting of the ministers of industry of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the VIII meeting of the Council on Industrial Policy of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will take place.

Ministers of Industry of India, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Deputy Ministers of Industry of Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, China, SCO General Secretary Zhang Min, Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Ilkhomjon Nematov, as well as Russia and Representatives of business circles of Kazakhstan will participate.

The participants of the meeting discussed the development of industry within the framework of the SCO and the CIS, ensuring stable growth of industrial production on the basis of cooperation, implementing joint investment projects, introducing new technologies, attracting material and financial resources, increasing labor productivity and they will discuss issues of further acceleration and expansion of cooperation on diversification of industrial products.

During the meetings, a number of important documents aimed at the development of the industry of the SCO and CIS member states are expected to be approved.

In particular, the ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Organization approve the project of the program for the promotion of industrial cooperation between the business circles of the SCO countries. This document will be included in the agenda of the Organization's Samarkand summit for approval.

A document on cooperation in this direction is expected to be approved at the meeting of industry ministers of the CIS member states.
