Ecuador becomes first country to build buildings out of recycled cocaine

According to Reuters, the Ecuadorian state has begun constructing buildings out of recycled cocaine. The country has become the first country in the world to use the technology.

It is noted that the reason is because the volume of illicit substances seized in the country has reached extreme levels.

Every week, large quantities of bags of cocaine are sent to recycling plants where they are crushed together with other waste products. The resulting powder is mixed with cement, sand and water. The result is a finished, defined mixture that is added to foundations during construction.

It is noted that this method of cocaine elimination is considered to be several times faster than incineration.
