EU-UK Trade Falls After Brexit

After the first month of Brexit (UK exit from the EU), Britain's exports to the EU fell sharply. Exports of goods to the EU from the UK collapsed by 40%, and imports from the EU fell by 29%.

Thus, the export of goods to the EU, with the exception of non-monetary gold and other precious metals, fell by 40.7% in January. And imports fell 28.8%, the UK Office for National Statistics said.

However, the department warned that the assessment of Brexit for trade complications is greatly complicated by the coronavirus pandemic, which is also affecting trade volumes.
