European airports are on strike

Several hundred airline employees seriously affected by the coronavirus pandemic are holding a protest at Paris's Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport in an effort to save their jobs.

As noted on euronews.com, traffic at Paris airports fell again in February due to the pandemic, with passenger numbers falling more than 80% from the previous year.

Immigration officials at London Heathrow Airport are also set to go on strike over Easter weekend over personnel changes that unions say have resulted in hours of delays for passengers arriving in the UK. Airport commercial staff said they would also not come to work from April 1 due to unacceptable staffing tables.

Very few people travel through UK airports - only those with a good reason are allowed on international flights. For the rest, the ban will be in effect at least until mid-May.
