Experts from the SCO countries will discuss issues of information security

On September 6 of this year, a scientific-expert forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on information security will be held in Tashkent.
The event is being held by the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Counter-Terrorism Structure.
It is expected that more than 30 leading experts representing the relevant ministries, departments, scientific-academic and analytical circles of the SCO member states will gather in the dialogue on information security issues organized in a hybrid format by connecting foreign participants online.
The influential composition of the participants allows to discuss the latest trends and achievements in the field of digitization, as well as to present advanced national experience in combating threats in the field of information and cyber security in the context of ensuring human rights and the rule of law in the SCO space.
The initiative to hold this forum was put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the SCO Dushanbe summit on September 17, 2021.
To address these broad issues, the forum agenda is divided into 3 thematic sessions:
I. Expanding the scope of information use is an important factor in the development of modern society.
II. Information-ideological threats and the development of effective countermeasures against such threats.
III. Protection of sensitive information infrastructure objects in conditions of rapid ICT development.
