Flying machines will be tested in Japan

The first experiments on organizing the practical movement of flying machines will be held in the public space of a Japanese city. Currently, conditions for obtaining a license to drive a flying car, safety criteria for such devices, etc. are being defined.

It is implemented in cooperation with three large corporations, namely Mitsubishi Estate, Japan Airlines and Kanematsu Trade and Investment Corporation.

In the first phase, Mitsubishi Estate will select a location for the installation of flying cars on the roofs and areas of skyscrapers in central Tokyo.

The first actual test flights of manned aircraft are expected to take place in fiscal year 2024. They are currently being developed by a German-based company that Japan Airlines is investing in.

A number of Japanese companies intend to launch commercial use of flying cars in 2025. In particular, it is envisaged that they will be used to transport passengers at the World Exhibition in Osaka.

Currently, conditions for obtaining a license to drive a flying car, safety criteria for such devices, areas of use, etc. are being defined.

The reason for the Japanese government's desire to accelerate work in this direction is that the government is worried about the increasing competition in the introduction of flying cars from the United States, the European Union and Chinese companies.

Singapore is reportedly planning to launch German-made flying cars next year.

According to Morgan Stanley, one of the largest US banks, by 2040 the global market of flying cars may reach 1.5 trillion dollars.
