For the first time, a robotic surgeon performed a lung transplant

A 65-year-old patient underwent a lung transplant by a robotic surgeon at Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, Spain. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.
It is noted that a new method was used during the operation, that is, the damaged lung was removed through a small incision under the patient's sternum without opening the chest, and a new one was placed in its place.
As it turned out, only a small incision was made by the doctor's hand. All other tasks were done with the help of "four skillful hands" of the Da Vinci robot.
Experts conclude that this new surgical technology is relatively safe and minimally invasive, and will save the lives of thousands of patients in the future.
