For the first time in 15 years, the Kayrakkum reservoir in Tajikistan froze over

In northern Tajikistan, the Kayrakkum Reservoir froze over. It is noted that the last time such an event occurred was 15 years ago.
"It's really an indescribable beauty. Camera cannot capture this beauty. The sea is like a living thing," say residents of Gulistan.
Normally at this time waves used to wash the shores of the Kayrakkum Reservoir. Now the place has turned to ice. The air temperature has dropped to -5 degrees Celsius. On frosty days, almost all the lakes in high mountain Tajikistan freeze over.
The Hydrometeorological Centre noted that the abnormal cold weather in Tajikistan has abated a little, but has not yet receded.
