For the first time in Taliban history, a female leader has been appointed

 
Taliban has reportedly announced the appointment of women to leadership positions in Afghanistan for the first time since taking power.
 
By order of the caretaker Prime Minister, Dr. Malalay Rahim has been appointed director of the Malalay Specialized Maternity Hospital, the only obstetrics and gynecology facility in the country. At the suggestion of the Ministry of Higher Education and with the approval of the Prime Minister of the Provisional Government, Dr. Arian was appointed Director of the Shahror (Gynecology) Clinic.
 
As reported, appointments were preceded by numerous meetings of Taliban with representatives of a number of countries and international organizations, during which the issue of the participation of women, in particular, in the socio-political life of the country was raised.
