For the first time representatives of Uzbekistan chair the UNESCAP Technology Transfer Council

December 6-8 this year, the 18th meeting of the General Council was organized by the Center for Technology Transfer of the Asia-Pacific Economic and Social Commission in the UN building in Bangkok, Thailand, with participation of representatives of member countries. A delegation headed by the Director General of the National Innovation Department of the Ministry of Innovative Development Olimjon Tuychiev took part in it as representatives of Uzbekistan.
Before the Board of Directors, the election of the Chairman of the Board was traditionally held. Representatives from Uzbekistan were elected Chair for the next year by a majority vote.
The meeting of the Governing Council was opened by the UN Under-Secretary-General Dr. Armida Alisabana and the Chairman of the Governing Council Olimjon Tuychiev. The organization's Strategic Plan for 2023-2027 was discussed and adopted by the member countries at the Board meeting along with a hearing of the work done by the member countries in the past period.
Now in the implementation of technology transfer, the impact of technologies on the environment and the level of energy conservation is first carefully studied and implemented on the basis of the relevant conclusion.
Also, members of the Board got acquainted with the comprehensive reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years, especially with the work being done in the field of innovation and future plans, and the Majlis finally agreed that the next meeting of the Board of Directors will be held in Uzbekistan.
At the end of the meeting, Olimjon Tuychiev held talks with Dr. Armida Alisabana, UN Under-Secretary-General, President of the UN Security Council, during which they exchanged views on the cooperation to be realized in Uzbekistan in the future and today's opportunities.
