Former Hokim of Karshi may be jailed for 4 years

A sentence was read to former Karshi Hokim of Kashkadarya Region, Jamshid Fazilov. The press office of the Supreme Court reported.

Earlier, it was revealed that in 2018-2019, the former head of the city, Deputy Construction Works U.A., Chief Architect of Karshi City Sh.B. and others had illegally transferred land plots worth 60 billion 512 million soums from the hokimiyat's reserve.

According to a ruling by the Karshi City Criminal Court, Fozilov was found guilty under article 205, paragraph 2 (a) (abuse of power or official authority), article 206, paragraph 2 (a) (excess of power or official authority), article 209, paragraph 2 (forgery in office) and article 229-4, paragraph 2 (a) (violation of the land grant procedure) of the Criminal Code.

Under Article 59 of the Criminal Code (conviction for several crimes), he was sentenced to four years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold public office for two years.

It is noted that Dzhamshid Fazilov filed an appeal against the court ruling.
