Gold imports from Russia to China reached a record level in October

According to the China Customs Administration, the country purchased more than 2 tons of gold worth $124.6 million for the month. According to the monthly statistics of the organization, gold imports from Russia this time reached a maximum since 2016.
Meanwhile, Switzerland, Canada, South Africa and other countries remain the main suppliers of the precious metal to China.
It is reported that in January-October 2022, imports of gold from Russia to China in unprocessed or semi-processed form was 5.72 tons. This is 1.9 times more than for the same period last year. The volume of imports in monetary terms increased by 1.8 times and amounted to 330 million dollars.
