Google has announced the results of its annual "Year in Search" ranking

According to Google, Wordle, an online game created by programmer Josh Wardle and later sold to the New York Times, was voted the most searched game by Google users in 2021.

Note that Wordle is playable once a day. The player's main task is to find a word consisting of five letters. Each day, the same word is given to all users in the world. Each user is given six tries to find the word of the day. The game is played for a few minutes.

This game has become so popular that it has also influenced Google's other search rankings.

Second in the search ranking was India vs. England, which was trending during this summer's cricket World Cup semifinal match.

Ukraine came in third in the world polls.

Also, the word "Ukraine" came in first place among queries in the "News" category. The death of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II came in second place, while the results of November's midterm elections in the U.S. came in third.

Among the polls in the People category, first place went to actor Johnny Depp, he won this year in a legal battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard (who is in third place in this category). Second place went to actor Will Smith, who punched Chris Rock (in fifth place in this category), who made a joke about his wife's hair at the Oscars. Russian President Vladimir Putin is in fourth place.
