Greece's Prime Minister has called for preparations for a «very severe» winter

Due to the energy crisis in Europe, Greece has to prepare for a "very harsh winter". Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said this at the opening of the 86th international exhibition.
He explained that if the price of gas increases tenfold, no government can stop such an increase and it will inevitably affect the citizens. At the same time, Mitsotakis noted that Greece will continue to support Ukraine despite the difficulties.
The Prime Minister also announced the planned measures to support the population. Among them is the payment of 250 euros in December for 2.3 million citizens from the category of the population in need of social protection. In addition, allowances and pensions will be increased, entrepreneurship will be encouraged, the minimum wage will be increased (from May 1, 2023) and other measures will be taken.
