Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov also visits ancient Samarkand

Chairman of the Upper House of the Parliament of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has arrived in Samarkand to attend the summit of the Organization of Turkic States. Recall that the Republic of Turkmenistan is an observer state of the Organization of Turkic States.

The high-ranking guest was met at the international airport of Samarkand by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and other officials.

Recall that on November 12, 2021 on the Island of Democracy and Freedom near Istanbul, Turkey, at the VIII summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States, organized under the theme of "green technologies and smart cities in the digital age" the Republic of Turkmenistan was accepted as a member of the Organization of Turkic States in the status of observer.

Speaking about relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, economic and investment potential and development of cooperation between two brotherly states has significantly increased in recent years.

P.S. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Turkmenistan on October 21 this year. At the conclusion of the high-level talks, a signing and document exchange ceremony was held where the presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan signed a declaration on deepening strategic partnership. In addition, a number of documents aimed at expanding multilateral Uzbek-Turkmen cooperation have been signed at the level of governments, ministries and agencies of the two countries.
