Healing salt cave «Khojaikon»

"Khojayikon" salt cave was opened in 1989 and is located on the southeastern slope of the foothills of the Kokhitan mountain range, Sherabad district, Surkhandarya region, at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level.
For information: In the interior of the "Khojaikon" salt cave, which is considered a tangible cultural heritage, there are five rooms-chambers that differ in temperature, humidity, pressure and microclimate, together with a system of art galleries. The walls of the cave are uniquely covered with a layer of salt from one centimeter to three centimeters, and there is a healing spring with a salt solution in the passage. This cave environment contains useful supplements for the treatment of allergic respiratory diseases, long-lasting acute and chronic bronchitis, asthma, complications of pneumonia, patients with reduced immunity and skin diseases.
At the same time, there are cases where the "Khojaikon" salt cave may cause damage to the object of cultural heritage. In particular, the medical association of Sherabad district within the Surkhandarya Regional Health Department is using this object at the expense of the economy without appropriate supporting documents. This creates a number of difficulties in ensuring the protection of the cultural heritage object.
Within the framework of these decisions, the cadastral documents of the cultural heritage object of the "Khojaikon" salt cave were formalized by the "Termiz" state museum-reserve, and the right of ownership was obtained. n particular, the "Khojayikon" salt cave cultural heritage object is used for medical treatment, extensive cooperation is carried out with state and private sanatoriums, it is turned into one of the attractions on an international scale, and local and foreign visitors are widely involved in eco- and medical tourism. It is considered appropriate to keep the "Termiz" state museum-reserve on the basis of the right of operational management in order to regulate the receipts of funds and direct these funds as budget funds and, most importantly, to keep this object of cultural heritage under state protection.
