History of earthquake: 11-point in Azerbaijan, 9-point in Japan, 8-point in Tashkent

Ganja earthquake is 11 magnitude earthquake, which happened near Ganja city on September 30, 1139 on the territory of modern Azerbaijan. It killed 230,000 people and created eight lakes. This earthquake ranks among the top 5 most catastrophic earthquakes in history.
The Great Chinese earthquake occurred on January 23, 1556 in Shaanxi province. Some 830,000 people were killed. The centre was in the Wei River valley and the city of Huaxiang was completely destroyed. Twenty-metre high cracks appeared and the earthquake affected an area of 500 km. After the quake, there was a long aftershock.

The Earth's vibration at a frequency of 2-3 Hz lasted for 10-12 minutes. On the night of May 9-10, May 24 and June 5 strong tremors (6-7 magnitude) repeated.
The earthquake in Japan occurred on March 11, 2011 at 14:46 local time with magnitude 9.0-9.1. The epicentre was 35 km deep in the Pacific Ocean. The earthquake was followed by a tsunami.
