How much the USA spent last year on aid to Ukraine

The Hill has calculated that the USA spent $75.5bn on aid to Ukraine in 2022. Of which $29.3bn was spent on military support starting from 24 February last year, the newspaper said.

For example, one mobile multiple rocket launcher HIMARS costs about $4 million, one missile to it costs about $100,000, an Abrams tank costs $10 million, the newspaper says.

According to The Hill, the main item of spending to support Ukraine is the allocation of funds "to ensure Ukraine's common security, restore its economy, energy security and to overcome the humanitarian crisis". The USA has allocated $45bn for these purposes.

Washington also allocated $1.9bn for humanitarian aid to refugees from Ukraine and other vulnerable groups inside and outside the country.
