IBM, an American company, has halted operations in Russia

The International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) has announced that it has suspended operations in Russia, which was reported by a journalist of The Economist.

Earlier in March, IBM announced that Russia had stopped its commercial activities, software sales and cooperation with Russian defense companies following its launch of operations in Ukraine.

P.S: IBM was founded in 1911, that originally produced scales, cheese cutters and perforators. In 1943, the first IBM computer was manufactured, and in 1981, the first personal computer - the IBM PC. Today, the corporation is providing software development, consulting and IT services. In 1974, the company set up a representative office in Moscow.

After hostilities in Ukraine, many companies suspended their operations in Russia either temporarily or completely. In early March, Microsoft and Adobe halted selling products and services in the country. In early April, Intel put an end to its activities in Russia.
