Ibragim Raisi invited the head of our state to Iran

The Congress Center in Samarkand hosted a meeting of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi, who took place in our country on an official visit.

During the negotiations, the Presidents discussed issues of strengthening bilateral relations, expanding practical cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, transport-logistics and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

This year, the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, business and science innovation forums were held, a joint investment committee was established. It was noted that there are ample opportunities to further increase bilateral trade, increase trade turnover in the near future to 1 billion dollars. For this purpose, an appropriate "road map” is developed. In addition, it is envisaged to sign an agreement on preferential trade.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the field of Transport and logistics. It was noted that the establishment of freight transport by road Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan - Iran, the effective use of the potential of the Port Chobahor, the relief of the conditions of cargo import and transit will serve to expand the possibilities in this regard. Opinions were also exchanged on the topic of Afghanistan.

Ibrahim Raisi invited the president of Uzbekistan to go to Iran on a response visit at a convenient time for him.
