IDI regional offices open in Bukhara and Khorezm regions, companies' investment opportunities assessed

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khojaev held a meeting with representatives of International Development Ireland (IDI, Republic of Ireland). Representatives of the company presented reports on executed works within the first section of the contract signed between Centre for Development of Investment Projects under the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of The Republic of Uzbekistan and IDI.

It is pointed out that the company has developed complex strategies for the development of investment potential of Bukhara and Khorezm regions, conducted trainings for the management and staff members of the Ministry, as well as representatives of organizations responsible for attracting investments in accordance with the advanced training program on attracting foreign investments, both directly and online. The training was attended by specialists of the Irish Investment Promotion Agency.

Also, IDI experts with support of Bukhara and Khorezm regions' Hakimiyat opened regional branches of IDI and evaluated investment opportunities of 25 companies in both regions. The 620 investors were informed about opportunities created in the area, 16 of them showed interest in the proposals and started negotiations on implementation of mutually beneficial investment projects. It was noted that the investors are mainly interested in medical and hotel services, food production, cattle breeding, manufacture and sale of ready made textile products, construction materials and medical products.

At the end of the meeting it was noted that the IDI will develop and present the concept aimed at the transformation and increase of efficiency of the Ministry's territorial structures and the concept will be discussed during the next negotiations.
