II CIS Games to be held in Belarus in August

Representatives of the CIS member states have approved the rules of competition at the working group meeting on the preparation and staging of the II Commonwealth Games on New Year's Eve. According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, the 2nd CIS Games will be held from August 4 to 14, 2023. The concept of the Games includes 21 sports events in 11 cities of Belarus.
Minsk, Borisov, Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, Zhlobin, Mogilev, Molodechno, Orsha and Soligorsk will among others.
It is reported that some 3,000 athletes, coaches, referees, medical staff and others are expected to take part in the CIS Games. It is planned that sports delegations from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will take part in the Games. The participation of delegations from Mongolia, China, Cuba, Iran, Oman and Saudi Arabia in some sports is being considered.
P.S. The 1st CIS Games took place in Kazan from September 4th to 11th, 2021. Over 1,000 athletes from nine CIS countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) took part in the competition. The participants competed for 181 medals in 16 sports.
