In Istanbul, the twelfth session of the Council of Elders of the organization of Turkic states was held

Chairman of the Council of Elders Binali Yildirim, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev and elders of the member states of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan addressed the opening ceremony.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Committee on Youth, Culture and Sports of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Sayfullayev.
The sides discussed issues of cooperation under the auspices of the Organization of Turkic States, as well as the implementation of decisions taken by the heads of state at the 8th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States on November 12, 2021 in Istanbul. Participants also discussed the updated charter of the Council of Elders of the Turkish Council and measures to strengthen the role of elders, as well as other issues.
It was noted the importance of coordination of effective cooperation and activities of the relevant structures of the organization of Turkic states, the goal of creating a “road map”on the development of mutual cooperation between the participating countries in cultural and social spheres.
On the initiative of the president of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the issue of holding events in the framework of the declaration of 2022 as the Year of support for youth initiatives in Turkey was also discussed.
At the end of the meeting, recommendations were developed on the issues discussed, as well as the date of the 13th session of the Council of Elders, which is planned to be held in the Kyrgyz Republic in the second half of 2022.
