In Russia, car sales could fall by 50 percent

Passenger car sales in Russia could fall by 50 percent by 2022, said Alexei Kalitsev, chairman of the European Business Association's (EBA) automobile manufacturers committee, at the annual meeting of the Russian Automobile Dealers Association.
He said that if car sales in Russia went according to a good scenario, it could reach 800,000 units this year.
"I think the accuracy of delivery will be seen in the next quarter. I do not expect the situation to improve during the second quarter. The second quarter will be a period of overcoming all the existing problems.
If the process goes according to a positive scenario, we will start production. If we start production later than the third quarter, then sales will fall even worse", he said.
