In Saudi Arabia, the temperature dropped to minus 6 degrees

Temperatures dropped sharply to minus 6 degrees (Celsius) in the Turaif area in northern Saudi Arabia. This is the lowest temperature observed in the country in the last 30 years.
Cold temperatures were also recorded in the northern Al-Qurayyat (-5 degrees) and Arar (- 4 degrees) provinces. In Turaif, along with cold weather, heavy snowfall was observed.
As meteorologists report, the wave of abnormal cold in the north of the kingdom will continue until the end of this week, and the temperature will drop sharply in the central and eastern regions.
Officials in the Northern provinces noted people had gathered at gas stations due to the threat of a shortage of kerosene needed to heat residential buildings.
Low temperatures were also recorded in Madinah (- 9), Mecca (- 11) and Riyadh (- 16).
