Initiative launched to make Sirdarya region an unemployment-free zone

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Sirdarya region on 6 October to review the situation in agriculture and life of the population.
This year, cotton has been grown on an area of 75,000 hectares in the region. Currently, grain crops are being planted on about 80 thousand hectares of land. The head of state toured the fields of "Аrslon bobo" and "Omonboy oʼgʼli Tugal" farms in Sirdarya district.
Here, our president interacted with farmers and luminaries from Sirdarya. The farmers noted the increasing opportunities and interest in agriculture, the end of forced labour and the cultivation of by-products.
The Head of State also talked to the young people who work in agriculture here. They told him that they take 0.5 hectares of land from the fields of these farms and grow maash, carrots, onions and garlic. They talked about their plans to go to university and also to improve their houses with the income received.
Also as part of his visit, the President visited the " Shukronalik moʼjizalari" farm field in Saykhunabad district.
A dialogue was also held here with representatives and officials of the agricultural sector. The head of state stressed the need to improve crop yields, rational use and water accounting through innovation and variety. An instruction was given to improve the living conditions of farmers and workers, in particular to build small, low-cost houses for them.
