Is our future surrounded by pandemics?

A World Health Organization conference in Geneva discussed how high the risk is that the future will face a new pandemic and how to prevent a series of pandemics.

WHO experts said the fight against viruses that do not yet exist must begin now. They believe new pathogens could also emerge after COVID-19. The experts point to environmental problems, drastic environmental changes, and the use of biological weapons as factors.

Experts believe the new virus may emerge for two different reasons. While the first opinion is that the new pathogen arises from mutations in viruses that first appear in animals, the second opinion arises from the increased resistance to antibiotics of pre-existing bacterial infections.

To prevent such pandemics, vaccines against the virus must be created now. Then we will have the opportunity to proceed quickly with testing when the virus comes to the surface.
