Is transport accustomed to moving at the «most advantageous» time of day?

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is attending a meeting on measures to introduce a new public transport system in the city of Tashkent and oblast capitals.

The head of our state noted that there are problems in this area, and to solve them it is necessary to change the existing system of work in transport departments and bus fleets.

He pointed out that some provincial centres have no public transport plan, some bus routes do not work and there are not enough bus stops.

Transport companies were criticised for sticking to a daily "revenue plan" and being used to travel at the "most profitable" times of the day (8-10am, 5-7pm). At other times, passengers have to wait a long time or take a taxi.

In this regard, the President has identified measures to introduce a new funding system, organise bus routes, renew the fleet and improve infrastructure.
