Is Twitter selling security?

Twitter has announced a change in the terms of service for ordinary users. From March 20, the platform will charge for two-factor authentication (2FA) via SMS, incorporating this security option into a Twitter Blue subscription.

From the end of March, for $8 per month, users with a Twitter Blue subscription will have access to 2FA via text message, as well as the current features - half the advertising, priority in replays, mentions and search, publishing tweets up to 4,000 characters long.
