Issues of preventing plagiarism in science and education at the national level, the experience of the countries of the region and the European Union

On September 10 this year, the Center for Scientific and Technical Information under the Ministry of Innovative Development held a round table on the topic "Issues of preventing plagiarism in science and education at the national level, the experience of the countries of the region and the European Union."

Over the past three years, Uzbekistan has taken an important step in the development of scientific and innovative activities. The main driving force behind this process is the strategic vision and high-level political support provided by the country's leadership. At the same time, at the present stage of development of science in Uzbekistan, there are problematic issues that require special attention. It should be borne in mind that their untimely solution will lead to negative consequences that may occur in the future. One of these problems is the failure of scientists to comply with the rules of scientific ethics when writing scientific papers, that is, plagiarism is practiced.

The current situation requires the formation in the country of a national scientific and technical database (central repository) capable of checking scientific articles for plagiarism, as well as providing an opportunity for use by each organization. In addition, you need to ensure that each document is moved to the central repository after being checked out.

In order to solve these problems, as well as prevention, a round table was held on the topic “Issues of preventing plagiarism in the field of science and education at the national level, the experience of the countries of the region and the European Union”.
