It was found that cocoa is useful in hypertension

Scientists from Great Britain, after an experiment with the participation of volunteers, came to the conclusion that cocoa, although it is known to lower blood pressure, is more useful.
As a result, they noted that patients with hypertension should drink this drink regularly.
It turns out that cocoa has the property of lowering blood pressure due to the presence of a large amount of flavanols. Researchers explain the benefits of cocoa by the peculiarities of the absorption of flavanols in the digestive system.
Initially, less of them are absorbed in the small intestine, which gives rise to the first stage of pressure decline. After that, the second and most part are absorbed in the large intestine due to the action of beneficial bacteria living there. This serves to lower blood pressure.
Scientists have also found that cocoa makes the walls of blood vessels more viscous. This makes it possible to prevent the development of atherosclerosis.
