Italian ambassador praises prospects of mutually beneficial relations

Tashkent Hokim Jahongir Artikhodjaev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Uzbekistan Agostino Pinna and Ambassador of Rome Romeo Orlandi on the occasion of EXPO-2030 World Exhibition.

At the meeting, Jahongir Artikhodjaev thanked the guests for the visit and noted with joy the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Italy. He also said that mutually beneficial ties between Uzbekistan and Italy are getting stronger, in particular, interest in the city of Tashkent is growing. Currently, 19 Uzbek-Italian joint ventures operate in our capital city.

In his turn, Agostino Pinna gave a high evaluation to the prospects of developing mutually beneficial relations with Tashkent, stressing the growth of annual mutual trade turnover, increasing number of Italian businessmen in the capital and introducing Romeo Orlandi to J. Artikhodjaev who has come to Uzbekistan as part of promoting the idea of holding EXPO-2030 world exhibition in Rome.

Romeo Orlandi noted that the city of Rome, along with the cities of Busan, Odessa and Riyadh, is a candidate to host the EXPO-2030 World Exhibition and invited the Hokim of Tashkent to visit the city of Rome with its three-thousand-year history.
