Japan may buy the developer of the game «Angry Birds»

The Japanese company "Sega" is planning to buy the Finnish company "Rovio Entertainment", which is the producer of the "Angry Birds" game, for 1 billion dollars. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.

According to the publication, if the negotiations do not break down or are not prolonged, "Sega" could conclude an agreement to acquire "Rovio Entertainment" as early as next week.

The Finnish company confirmed that talks had taken place and said there was no clarity on when or if there would be a potential tender offer, nor the terms of such a potential tender offer.

Helsinki-listed Rovio shares rose 1.11 percent to 7.78 euros in Friday trading, valuing the studio at 645 million euros ($709 million). Since the beginning of 2023, the company's shares have grown by 28%.
