Joint projects with UNICEF worth $ 102.5 million US

Today, Behzod Musayev, the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, and the Head of UNICEF in Uzbekistan M. Mamedzade signed a "Road Map" for 2022-2025.
The document encompasses joint measures for the development of the healthcare system in the country worth a total of 102.5 million US dollars, which consists of four main directions.
The first direction is focused on the urgent tasks of improving the quality of perinatal services in our country.
The second direction includes the inoculation of children with vaccines included in the national calendar, equipping existing sanitary facilities with modern equipment, thereby upgrading the immunization process in the country.
The third area is measures to enhance the nutrition of mothers and children. These include the provision of iron and folic acid to children aged 6-23 months and women under the age of 35, and the development of nutrition standards in secondary schools.
The final one is geared toward improving the quality of medical care for teenagers.
In general, the implementation of the bilateral signed "Road Map" will serve to strengthen the health of mothers and children in Uzbekistan, to further boost the knowledge and experience of health workers working in this area.
