Komil Allamjonov proposed legalising the use of castration as a punishment for paedophiles

Komil Allamjonov, deputy head of the Presidential Administration, said it is time to amend legislation on the use of chemical castration as a punishment for paedophiles.

He made this statement after a court in Khorezm released officials who had forced underage girls in an orphanage to have sexual relations with them.

They were sentenced to one year and six months of restricted freedom. They are prohibited from leaving the house between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., from changing their place of residence without the approval of the probation authorities, and from leaving their region of residence.

The court ruling sparked public outrage and widespread dissatisfaction.

"If you say we can't do without world experience in this matter, look at Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Israel, South Korea, France, the US and other countries that have this punishment. But China, Latin America, Saudi Arabia and Iran have them killed," - Allamjonov noted.
