Last year more than 118,000 number plates were sold through the exchange

In 2022 more than 118,000 number plates worth 304.1 billion soums were sold through transparent internet auctions in the electronic trading system avtoraqam.uzex.uz of the Commodity Exchange of Uzbekistan. The minimal price of the sold number plates was 494.9 thousand soums and the most expensive - 348.0 million soums.

The average cost of one deal was 2.6 million soums. Natural persons bought 91% of the cars, while 9% were purchased by legal entities.

According to the bidding results, 5% of the deals were for the first class cars, 8% for the second, 8% for the third, 11% for the fourth, 22% for the fifth and 46% for the sixth class cars.

In terms of regions the largest number of number plates were purchased in Tashkent city and Tashkent region (31%), Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions (8% each), Namangan, Andijan and Surkhandarya regions (7% each) and Khorezm region (6%).

It is reported that 80% of proceeds from the sale of number plates at online auctions will go to the state budget of Uzbekistan, and 20% will be allocated for the development of material and technical base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The proceeds from the sale of the number plates, material incentives for its employees and other expenses will go to the fund.
