Loans for studying at universities are being introduced in Uzbekistan

From 2021/2022 it will be possible to take an educational loan at the main rate of the Central Bank (now — 14%) to study at the university. The main part of the loan will be repaid after the student's graduation within seven years.

To allocate an educational loan to children from families included in the «Unified Register of Social Protection», a pledge and a guarantee are not required.

A fund is being created to finance educational loans under the Ministry of Finance. In 2021, it is allocated funds from the state budget in the amount of at least 1 trillion soums, in subsequent years — based on the actual need.

The main part of the educational loan is repaid after the end of the official period of study of the student, starting from the seventh month for seven years.
