Mazar-e-Sharif airport rebuilt with support from Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan completed a technical assistance project to rehabilitate the Mazar-e-Sharif airport in Afghanistan. The works included repair of air navigation and meteorological equipment, reconstruction of the runway and restoration of power supply to the airport.

Representatives of the Afghan side noted that this initiative, based on strengthening fraternal ties, was perceived by Uzbekistan as a logical continuation of efforts to strengthen friendly, mutually beneficial relations of cooperation with neighbouring countries.
