Meeting with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland

On June 3, 2022, Vladimir Norov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, received a delegation led by the Acting Chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Zbigniew Rau.

The event covered the present situation and potential of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OSCE, as well as problems concerning the future strengthening of Uzbek-Polish relations.

In fact, cooperation with OSCE institutions in all three priority areas of the organization is developing rapidly.

The meeting focused on enlisting advanced technologies and innovations, developing a "green" economy and mitigating the effects of the drying up of the Aral Sea, as well as the development of democratic institutions, improving electoral legislation and other joint projects.

The OSCE representatives expressed their alacrity to deepen cooperation with Uzbekistan by developing additional specific projects in areas of mutual interest.

During the negotiations, the sides addressed issues of further expansion of bilateral political, commercial, economic, investment and cultural humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and Poland.

An intergovernmental implementation program in the fields of culture, science, higher education, enlightenment and sports for 2022-2026 was also signed. The document outlines the main areas of cooperation between the relevant ministries and departments of the two countries.
