Melting glaciers in Greenland can lead to a sharp rise in ocean levels

Due to the melting of 110 trillion tons of glaciers in Greenland, the level of the world's oceans rises by at least 27 centimeters. This is reported by the British edition of The Guardian with reference to the Geological Service of Denmark and Greenland.

According to research, over the next 100-150 years, the level of the oceans will be observed as a result of the melting of the Greenland glaciers.

It is reported that scientists analyzed the state of glaciers in 2000 — 2019. Experts predict that if carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere do not decrease, the rapid melting of glaciers will lead to an increase in the level of the world's oceans by 78 centimeters.
