Military from Uzbekistan and Russia have started joint exercises

More than 1.5 thousand servicemen of the armed forces of Uzbekistan and Russia are conducting joint exercises for 5 days at the Termez Training Ground.

The event began with a general formation of the military personnel of the two countries. After the solemn raising of the state flags of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the performance of the national anthems, a rally was held.

In a welcoming speech, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Central Military District (CVO), Major General Nikolai Tereshchenko and Deputy Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan for Combat Training, Colonel Kadyr Tursunov, wished the servicemen successful cooperation. They expressed confidence that the joint exercise will further strengthen bilateral cooperation. Then the participants of the event marched in a solemn march on the parade ground of the Termez base.

Russian servicemen will perform tasks on armored vehicles provided by Uzbekistan, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
