Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met the Delegation of the Turkic Council headed by Secretary General Baghdad Amreev

It was noted that the entry of Uzbekistan into the Turkic Council gave a new impetus to the all-round development of cooperation within the Organization.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan, being an integral part of the Turkic world, actively joined the activities of the Turkic Council as its full member.

During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of multifaceted cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres, in the field of transport and logistics, tourism, youth and sports.

Attention is focused on the importance of further advancement within the Organization of practically significant initiatives and specific projects that contribute to the improvement of the economic welfare of the Turkic peoples and greater rapprochement of the entire Turkic world.

They also exchanged views on the agenda of the upcoming summits of the heads of state of the Turkic Council.

The meeting noted the importance of the earliest possible creation of a Joint Investment Fund, designed to promote the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the member states of the Organization.

The parties also touched upon the organization of a number of important events in Uzbekistan this year, including meetings of the ministers of tourism, agriculture, youth and sports, as well as the Forum of Young Entrepreneurs of Turkic-speaking States.

Following the meeting, the Parties agreed to make joint efforts to further expand mutually beneficial multilateral cooperation in priority areas for the member countries.
