More than 5,300 joint and foreign enterprises have been established in Uzbekistan with the participation of investors from OIC countries

On July 5 of this year, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov received the Secretary General of the OIC Khusrav Noziri, who is in our country to participate in the seventh meeting of the ministers of agriculture of the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization, which is being held in Tashkent.

During the interview, Khusrav Noziriy noted that Uzbekistan's chairmanship of the OIC serves to further expand and strengthen cooperation within this organization. The "Roadmap" adopted as part of the implementation of the concept of the Presidency of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the OIC is being implemented in a timely and systematic manner.

Joint events to be held in 2022 in accordance with the OIC plan, including preparations for the 26th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers to be held in Tashkent in November 2022, were discussed.

During the meeting, issues related to disruption of supply chains and the ongoing global pandemic were also discussed. The prospects of adopting joint coordinated measures for the systematic restoration of transport communications and trade in the region were considered. From the point of view that the OIC countries are the largest trading partners of Uzbekistan, this issue is relevant for our country.

According to the results of 2021, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the CIS countries amounted to 11.1 billion dollars, which is 1.8 times more than in 2017. More than 5,300 joint and foreign enterprises have been established in Uzbekistan with the participation of investors from OIC countries.
