Musk suggests Twitter will charge $8 a month for verified accounts

New Twitter owner Elon Musk has announced that he will charge $8 a month for a subscription service that allows users to receive blue checks of approval on their accounts.

In a series of tweets, he added that Twitter's subscription service, known as Twitter Blue, would include other features such as replies, reminders and priority in search results, as well as the ability to insert lengthy video and audio clips.

The Verge also reported that Twitter is considering charging more for subscriptions. According to the report, Twitter plans to charge $20 for a new Twitter Blue subscription, and if they don't pay, the blue badges will be taken away from users. According to the report, users will be given a 90-day subscription before the blue badges will be removed. Project staff have been given until 7 November to make the changes.
