New 7.8 magnitude earthquake detected in central Turkiye

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said 912 people were killed and 5,400 injured in the quake. However, new reports say a new earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 has been recorded in central Turkey.
The quake also destroyed 2,800 buildings in the country.
"The earthquake, which occurred today at 04:17 local time, was the biggest disaster in the history of Turkey since the Erzincan earthquake in 1939," the Turkish President said in his speech.
Azerbaijani seismologists note that the earthquakes currently observed in Turkey could continue for another month.
