New feature for diabetics on smartphones

Tandem Diabetes Care, a food and pharmaceutical company, is working on a program that measures insulin doses on patients with diabetes on iPhone and Android devices.

The company confirmed in a statement that the T-Connect mobile app, which connects to an insulin pump, allows users with diabetes to control their insulin dose directly via a smartphone.

This technology is used for a specific type of insulin dose that the user can take to prevent a sudden rise in glucose levels after a meal. The company claims that this feature will be provided free of charge through a software update. It is unknown when the feature will be launched, but it is thought to be one of the most requested features.
